I fly an aircraft that to most people would look like an ultralight. I find it interesting that so many people feel they should be heard when saying they should take away other citizens rights. I can use guns, booze, household chemicals, and automobiles with far less training than I have in planes. Yet I know I may die in my plane, I also know that we all die. I am not sure we all get to live. To me a good life is when someone reads your story and says, "Wow, that person lived!" You may not agree with my life choices, luckily , in America, I get to pursue my happiness. When it comes to dangerous activities, I think ignorance should be banned, not the activitiy. Sitting on the sofa avoiding danger still results in death.

The only way to prevent accidental human deaths is for people to stop making more people! Then, eventually, the problem will solve itself.

Ultra lights are a cheap and easy way to enjoy low-level flying. They require just a few hrs. of instruction and a person is then good to go. Someday I might own one, because they are easy too fly and maintain. All you need is about 250 ft. of flat, open space and your in the air. I don't know the FAA rules on take-offs and landings, but you could in theory use the street for such purposes. But you have to learn how too fly'em or you end up crashed and bent.

The reasoning by the first two (sortit & spanky67) should be banned....... With their reasoning - because of ALL the accidents AND deaths on the roadways - driving a car/truck/motorcycle/bike - should be banned......

I have known several people that own and fly these things, they are all still kicking but the way I see it its just a matter of time.I dont know if banning them is the answer, simply because I feel its a personal choice and the consequenses rarly,if ever involve anyone but the friends and family of those that fly in these things. Not for me.

actually...they should be banned!
