ANTHEM, AZ – Arizona’s largest Christmas tree will be officially lit in Anthem near the end of November.
The tree lighting will occur on November 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Outlets at Anthem located at 4250 West Anthem Way. This will be the eighth year the ceremony has occurred in Anthem and the event will be free of charge.
An animated performance will accompany the physical lighting of the tree, but there will be several different pieces of entertainment throughout the night.
A session of dueling pianos, presentations from the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Saint Joseph’s Hospital, and live music from teen singer Savannah Outen will precede the lighting ceremony.
The selected Christmas tree stands at 80 feet, weighs eight tons, and is 45-years-old.
The fir will be decorated with over 25,000 LED lights as well as ornaments and bows.
To replace the tree, fifty white firs were reportedly planted in the selected tree’s former standing place.
"This event has become a tradition in the north valley," said Sallyann Martinez, marketing director for the Outlets at Anthem. "It's an economical evening of entertainment for the family. There will be lots of music and a bit of drama when our 80-foot Christmas tree is lit. It's a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit."
