PHOENIX -- ABC15 has learned that Maricopa County Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox may be at the center of an ongoing FBI criminal investigation.

Joe Diaz, a well-known Phoenix boxing manager, said he's been interviewed numerous times by the FBI and that the questions revolved around Mary Rose Wilcox, her role as a member of the Arizona State Boxing Commission, her husband Earl, and former boxing commission executive director John Montano.

Several promoters, a former referee, and a doctor also said they've been questioned by the FBI.

The FBI has declined to comment.

Back in May, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office requested copies of all documents related to Mary Rose and Earl Wilcox and their involvement with the Arizona State Boxing Commission.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office confirms it is currently conducting an ongoing criminal investigation, but declined to comment further.

Supervisor Wilcox has declined our repeated requests for comment.
