If you haven't figured it out yet, Candy Andy is simply thumbing his nose at us taxpayers. I suggest next election we show him what else he can do with that thumb!

Must be a weak case if they have to bring in the big guns. What a waste of our money!

{Arizona lost points for not requiring that disclosure forms list the amounts of legislator income or descriptions of organizations where the lawmaker is an officer or director. The center also made note of the state's lack of auditing authority, something the Secretary of State's office said would take additional staffing and a legislative act to change. "We just accept what comes in and it's there for the public to see," Bjelland said. "Whether it's accurate or not, I always presume that they're accurate unless we get a complaint."} How come the rest have not been arrested?

He looks like a 70's porn star. Terrible waste of money.. I would hope that with the money he'll be making from fleecing the Maricopa County tax payers (us) he'd buy himself a better rug for his head.

Ragdoll, it sounds like you're assuming that with this snake oil salesman lawyer comes the end of corruption in our (un)fair town. it was, it is, it will always be. we love our gangstas here. we import them if we don't feel we have enough. we love them wearing suits or wearing bling or wearing handkerchiefs on their foreheads. we just love our bad guys and wouldn't give them up for the world. it pains us to have to prosecute them. Victims on the other hand are a totally different story. we think being a victim is being weak so we don't do much for them but snear and look away. welcome to Phoenix.

Corruption in Arizona’s government goes pretty high up the rates. If we need to bring in outside sources to prosecute these people then so be it. If it doesn’t get stopped now, it never will and the state will continue to suffer for it. It’ll cost the taxpayers more in the future if we allow the corruption to continue.

Weird mustache, looks like its been worn off from twirling the sides. There ought to be qualifying guidelines somewhere with political jobs, that indicate how much and who they are allowed to hire for defense purposes, otherwise, tax payers can sue him for reimburesment back to the city if its excessive. Is his job really worth all this cost? Why cant he get another job for petes sake. "Snake oil" can make additional money hireing himself out as a dead ringer for Hitler at the casinos, they are always looking for entertainment.

This vendetta by Stapley"s political enemies was funny to read about, but now we are getting into the big bucks the taxpayers of Arizona do not want to spend, nor can to afford to waste. Why not just a decent attorney if it has to go forward, I am sure the cost of all this is already way to much, and now we are I am positive in the 7 figures because he peeved some political enemy off. Go forward if they feel that mad, but give us the names of those pushing this, so we can vote them out of office next election. " high profile attorney" mean very, very expensive that is nuts, the only one coming out ahead here is the lawyers.
