Who needs Chicago politics? Phoenix is very close to taking the lead in corrupt politics away from them.

Wow, I finally shut that fool up.

Burro - 6/14/2009 8:37 PM
Irate, I know you are, but what am I? Now go write 4,000 words on that.

Ha ha ha Burro - you're an a#@ clown - you've been reduced to a fool that, in the beginning made "logical" comments, albiet, based on misconstrued facts and mis-information, but, over time, myself, and others have reduced you to a petty name-calling insignificant poster. Because your last few posts have been nothing more than ill-fated attempts to attack others personally, no more commentary directed at yur specific posts are deemed necessary. And if you'd been following any of my posts you'd of already gleened that I don't even live in Maricopa County, just work there and take my dollars to my home county, where a little sanity still exists - and the money isn't from the Mesa Courthouse (although it's location and efficiency make it a nice place to do business when I am there). Your weak reasoning and inept skills at making logical conclusions based on limited information has once again, made you the fool of the board( in fact, BOTH boards! This one and the Board of Supervisors you so want to suck up to) Ha ha ha ha ha

Andrew Thomas saying anything against the self serving government is like the pot calling the kettle black. He's just as self serving as any other public official. Sure there's suspicion in the new Court Tower, just like any other transaction involved with government funds. Thomas should be the LAST person in town to investigate someone else for suspicious behavior.

The complete lie being used to justify this project that because a lack of courtrooms is making cases take years. This building will not result in one more superior court division being created. No more judges so no more trials. Each division currently has a courtroom. There is a lot of delay in the criminal system but none of it is based on a lack of courtmoms but Mundell will use this lie to justify the building. This building may well be a great idea but don't use lies to support it. Increased security is a solid reason to build it but also a compelling reason to leave criminal in Mesa until it is built. If the East and Central Courthouses can not safely handle criminal do not compound the problem by adding 1000 cases to buildings that have already had a child rapist walk out the front door

So Burro, or should I say mule for the BOS and Courts, you think its okay for this to be a secret? You think its okay to close the east valley courts and force us to go to Phoenix? Why does the BOS oppose transparency? They came out against bill 1142! How can ANY elected official face the public and say they do not support FULL TRANPARENCY when it comes to our money? I want these crooks investigated and removed from office for what we know they did! I want to know why the paid a lawyer without construction experience $800, 000 to work on this project without an open bid. I want to know why they are hiding so much. I don’t care why they think this Taj Mahal is needed. This isn’t about the sheriff or County Attorney. It’s about the public’s right to know. It’s about the secrecy. What else are they hiding?

Burro - 6/13/2009 1:52 PM
Hi Irate Taxpayer, or should I say Irate Mesa Court Employee? Pretty irate AND long winded today aren't we? Why don't you go to the United States Supreme Court and ask them to stop the project on the grounds that you are unhappy and suspicious? That would make as much sense as the rest of the stuff you post.

Interestingly, a buddy of mine just reminded me that a public vote is exactly what the county powers that be did in the mid-1980's to get the East valley populatin to vote for the Mesa Courthouse. This public vote only occurred AFTER full disclosure and promises that it would be a "full-service" court house (i.e. to include criminal cases as well as a clerk's office so the East valley people would have easy access to the court system, be it as a participant, witness (police, expert, layperson, etc), victim, juror, merely filing documents, etc). All the information was public, the costs, the projected savings, the projected impact, etc. But even after all that, the CURRENT Presiding Judge and BofS are underhandedly steaming forward, without ANY public disclosure and without ANY public voter input, to violate that PROMISE made to the East valley residents 20 years ago. And we trust these folks NOW? Can ANYONE explain WHY this new Court Tower and shutting down of a major East valley Court component is being handled so DIFFERENTLY from the time when the Mesa Courthouse was built? This all needs to be stopped by the very part of government we elect to help us out - the Courts ! But, where would we ever find a Judge indepentent and free thinking enough with guts to stand up against the Presiding Judge, Mundell and the BofS? Obviously, it can't be a Maricopa County court or judge (federal, dunno. Out-of County? perhaps, or the Arizona Supreme court, given the magnitude and sensitivities of this issue? seems like a natural choice - but would they, and how many of them came from the Maricopa County judiciary system or legal community?

What needs to stop immediately is for the various political players in this taxpayer ripoff from using this merely for political maneuvering or gain. What needs to happen is a lawsuit filed asking for an injunction to immediately cease and desist construction and closure of the Mesa facility to allow for a cooling off period and until such time as all parties can present their cases in open court or some other suitable public forum. This would: 1. Force Mundell to justify her desires to close the Mesa facility re: criminal cases, and justify her so-called "master calendar" system to the general public; 2. Force the BofS to fully disclose ALL aspects of this project and WHY, as our representatives, they are joining in Mundells' disaster (i.e. full disclosure of this so-called "Severe Crisis" and why if this is so, so many current courtrooms sit empty onany given day in Phoenix (can't be a judge shortage, b/c that would carry over to the new Tower as well, unless we choose to just save money and hire more judges to use the CURRENTLY available space); 3. Force the opponents to come forth as well and detail WHY we are all so adament that this is a total ripoff of the biggest order. Along with that Injunction a referendum needs to be started to have this matter submitted for a County-wide vote (this being the biggest construction project in County history and all) Public vote on a project of this magnitude is not uncommon folks ! ! ! There is NO WAY a project like this should NOT be put to a County-wide public VOTE. WHy would ANYONE be against a public vote on this issue. Finally, recall petitions should be taken out against Mundell and the BofS should they in any way, shape or form, oppose full disclosure in a public forum and a county-wide vote on this issue. This is a classic, "it's better to ask for forgiveness later than it is to try and get permission in the beginning" scenario. We as voters and agencies we support should come out o
