This story is one of the most impressively researched and important pieces I have seen; it will no doubt prevent further needless tragedies. In violating both federal and their own standards, the schools and parks are acting in a grossly negligent, if not reckless, manner. To the extent that this investigation has already prompted these governmental bodies to take steps to secure these unsafe soccer goals, ABC15 has done our community a tremendous public service.

The goals are not monkey bars and the goal did not attack the boy. He had to be crawling on it. It is a European sport so why do we want here anyway. Thousands of places leave them movable for mowing and when the season is over so they can be used for other sports or events. Someone is just looking for an ambulance chaser and trying to justify the kid playing where he should not have been playing. Just look at the leverage it requires with a tall man in the picture

As a soccer referee I have been told to never referee a game with unsecured goals. If you are a parent or coach that has a game refereed with unsecured goals report it to the Leauge, school or tournement director. Referees are told to NEVER referee a game with unsecured goals.
