Click the play button on the video window to the right to see the storyEarlier this year, we wrote about a lawsuit involving Airborne cold remedy and allegations it didn't cure or prevent colds as the makers said.
Well, now new class action suits involving two more cold remedies make the same kind of claims.
One is Wal-Born, a cold remedy from Walgreens.
Scott Hardy with
Topclassactions.com describes the lawsuit allegations.
"They claim that it reduces or eliminates the common cold, when in fact it's a big infusion of vitamins and really doesn't have much of an effect," Hardy said.
Walgreens denies any wrongdoing.
If you bought Wal-Born between May 2001 and March 31, 2009, you could claim $14.97 or get a free flu shot.
The deadline to make your claim is September 9th.
Hardy said another class action lawsuit involves Cold MD. That one is very similar to the Wal-Born case with allegations involving false claims.
The maker of Cold MD said they did nothing wrong.
Anyone who bought the product between March 26, 2004 through May 29, 2009, can be reimbursed up to $30 if you apply by mail or $15 if you do it online.
The deadline is September 22nd.
In each of these cases, you do not need proof of purchase.
