It is too bad your story's title is so wrong. Searches may slow down your spyware, but that would be a good thing. I think you meant some searches may slow down yoru computer by installing spyware. I hate to say this for fear that i'll be adding to the general fear factorout there today, but ANY online search is just as likely as any other to have results with links to mailicious files. Including those found on reputable sites. Even Microsoft had this trouble at one time way back when things were still young. Your only hope is to keep your browser settings secure AND run a good AV/Anti spyware program AT ALL TIMES!! (I have issue w/ McAfee and no longer trust them w/ my systems). Your suggestions are not really helpful at all, and in fact could give someone a false sense of security by misinforming the public that sites like, oh I don't know- this one maybe?? are the only safe sites to search/download from.

The title of this article makes absolutely no sense! "Some online searches slow down your spyware" - what does that mean? That an online search might slow down the spyware that's on your machine? Man, terrible, terrible title.
