E-mails threaten jail and fines ... do not respond

There are tons of e-mails going around claiming to be from the FBI, Attorney General or other government officials.

The e-mails threaten fines and jail if you don’t respond, but the real threat is your cash.

Spammers are using your fear to get into your wallet.

The latest spam attack accuses you of money laundering and terror-related activities.

It's supposedly from the United States Attorney General, and of course, the next step is for you to pay to avoid prosecution.

Even if you did something illegal, the government would not send you an e-mail demanding money.

Trust me, if you are going to be prosecuted you'd already know.

So, do not respond to this or any other unsolicited e-mails telling you to click on links that in most cases will put a virus on your computer.

If you've already fallen for the spam, file a complaint with the FBI's Internet  Crime Complaint Center.
