The second annual Sustainability Fair was held in downtown Phoenix Thursday.

The free event was held at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Organizers said the idea was to bring together business with people who want to learn how to be more environmentally friendly.

The focus of this year's event -- going green.

"If you purchase products locally you don't have to use as many resources such as gas by ordering products from back east and have them shipped in or driven in across the country that's actually minimizing the impact on the environment," says Cynthia Weaver who is with the Phoenix convention center.

People who attended were informed about the sustainability initiatives and current trends that may be implemented in the office and at home.

The event was held at the convention center because of its environmentally friendly design.

Later this fall... the center will host the US Greenbuild conference.
