I'm not so sure they are 'dealing' with it. I remember taking a 'health' class back in 7th grade and one day were taught about the birds and the bees and shown a fictional film about a girl who got pregnant and was faced with raising a child at the age of 16. That was in the late 60's, believe it or not. Then in high school, they had similar time dedicated to the same subject, more in depth and with another film about a young couple who were going through the trials of dropouts becoming parents, getting work and finding a place to live. The subject of birth control in all forms available at the time was also discussed. Both of these classes were at schools in Phoenix. It's time to bring these classes or programs back and update them because young kids need accurate, frank information. For parents that say it's up to them, I disagree because 80% (or more) of you do not talk to your kids about these things in an informative way and you all know who you are. Many kids find it embarassing to hear this from parents and it helps for it to be in a neutral environment. But I guess the screwls don't find this information pertinent or germaine to their liberal curriculum, now, so they just they teach 'abstinence only', if that? It's not just that, but many of these families that are loosing their homes now were doing just fine at one point, like sagemind said. With this economy, many people who thought they were secure are loosing jobs and are not able to replace their income at the same level and the rents have only gone up. Affordable and safe housing is scare and the waiting lists are long. It's outrageous that people are living this way given how much the government completely wasted on bailouts of corporations and the banks to shore up their bottom line, only to stick it to us again. It's an absolute disgrace. I don't know why some philanthropist and the cities can't look into turning some of these empty properties around into something worthwhile.

PRINCESS; I understand what your saying...I also know that many families with many kids were at some point in a position to give them a good life....But, like in all crowds, some consider sex the only feel good experience left them, and screw like rabbits without condoms etc. In working with them; I have seen the mental breakdown these poor kids go through when they have to end up in a shelter...The majority of homeless who choose to live that way(some do) are in San Diego; the climate there allows them to be out and about more than AZ with it's triple digits... More can be done...more has to be done. Why can't the agency learn from other states who have dealt with this situation for much longer; and with a greater number.?.?.?....

You are both wrong. I'm very in shape, and a US citizen. You ignorant fools should do some research, its actually quite difficult to leave this country. Other countries don't want americans and the usa doesn't want them to leave because its more tax money absent from their pocket. USA sucks and you do both of you.

Nutrition i8s important to young kids - any doctor will tell you that. This is sad and a lot of these kids are facing tough times but i8f we as a nation do not take of the kids they will be doomed in later life. They did not ask to be brought into the world. ASU girl you must be a fat , unhappy, depressed lady and if you don't like the USA leave - not like anybody will miss you. Bet you are real popular with all your classmates as well with an attitude like that. You are a waste of time ,space , and breath.

ASS-UGAL. I guess you are not Human? female dog more like!! In all your comments all you do is slam USA and people. If you are so miserable just eat a bullit. You must be here from another country getting a free education. People that are not from here usually talk the most shit!! So go back where you came from, or if you are from here LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!

I have to laugh at these "experts". They are wrong. The government and the fed are to blame for this crisis. As are americans who want everything right now and feel as though they deserve it for free. You all brought this on yourself and now its time to take responsibility for it. What a concept. Humans suck and so does the usa.

if fox and 19 entertainment can afford to give simon cowell 114 million a year they can give some buckage to help these kids out. . . but guess what. . . hey obama where is the cap on these salaries. . . instead of bailing out gm and chrysler, bail out the schools. . . stop acting like a student body president, and act like a PRESIDENT!!!
