YUMA, AZ – Police arrested a man who allegedly attempted to murder a woman by firing a gun at the door of a Yuma home on Sunday morning.
Sergeant Clint Norred with the Yuma Police Department said 22-year-old Jose Gomez-Zarate, of Tucson, went to a residence near 27th Street and Virginia Drive before 1 a.m. and knocked on the door.
An adult female victim, who does not know Gomez-Zarate, reportedly answered the door and saw the suspect was armed with a revolver.
Police said she shut the door and Gomez-Zarate fired one round through the door and fled the scene.
The adult female, an adult male, and a juvenile female were inside the home during the incident, but none of them were injured.
Responding officers reportedly captured Gomez-Zarate at 25th Street and Virginia Drive and the revolver was recovered in the area.
Gomez-Zarate was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center and had an initial appearance on Sunday. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond for the listed charges.

· Possession of a narcotic drug
