YUMA, AZ – U.S. Border Patrol agents recovered more than 100 pounds of marijuana in three backpacks Monday near the San Luis entry point in southern Arizona.

The agents seized 55 bundles of marijuana weighing nearly 105 pounds with an estimated street value of over $83,000.

Agents arrested one suspect after investigating the entry of three individuals just west of the San Luis port of entry around 8:30 p.m.

The agents reportedly found three backpacks full of marijuana when they checked and once the drugs were secured, the agents tracked the three individuals, arresting one suspect.

The two remaining suspects reportedly returned to Mexico before agents could apprehend them.

All of the marijuana that was seized was turned over to the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force.
