WICKENBURG, AZ -- A woman was killed Monday after walking into traffic on a freeway near Wickenburg, according to officials.
DPS spokesperson Robert Bailey said crews responded to the scene on US 93 at milepost 196, just three miles north of Wickenburg, around 7:15 p.m.
Bailey said the woman walked into traffic and was struck by a pick-up truck.
She reportedly died at the scene.
Bailey said officers had the right shoulder of the northbound lane closed as crews investigated the incident Monday night.
It is unclear at this time why the woman walked onto the freeway.
Officials have not said whether or not the pick-up driver will face any charges.
