2 nearly lifeless suspects found in desert south of Tucson

Last Update: 9/04/2008 3:35 pm

Two suspected undocumented immigrants were flown to an Arizona hospital after being found nearly lifeless in the desert south of Tucson on Wednesday.

Border Patrol agents found a woman face down in the mud.  One of the agents, an EMT, started treatment immediately.

A short time later, another agent and his canine found a man in diabetic shock.

Both people were taken to a hospital, but there is no word on their conditions at this time.

This fiscal year, there have been over 400 rescues involving both the Tucson Sector Border Patrol's specialized units and agents.
