there have been rumors the last few years that since the border patrol pays the least of any law enforcement type gigs they get a lot of punks who didn't get hired elsewhere. I'd have no way of knowing that this is true, but there's gotta be some corruption there (only because there always is)

sikofit; I thank you! Didn't mean to spill so much, but when you asked, well...I turned into a "chatty-cathy" while pondering your comment. Unfortunately this is on going for many of us who choose to live off the Rez, among the regular folk. That's why I lived in SanDiego for 20yrs...raising my son. Many of our not so old family members crossed over(died) so I am back for the time being...Your right though...must move on and look for the good coming out of the changes regarding the Border Patrol...ummm and life! Take care, and again...Thank YOU, means alot to me to not get "bashed" right away on the comments below....Do enjoy your weekend...and be safe.

Sagemind- thanks for that story. I apologize for any offense to you and it makes more sense now. I'm sorry you were put through such an unnecessary ordeal and am glad it worked out in the end. There always has to be one or two p.o.s.'s to give the rest a bad rep. Well, there must be a reason that area is a magnet and it could be because your town is on a rez so they 'blend in', but they ARE catching illegals. If they would just stake out the area- saturate it with ICE or deputies quietly off the beaten path under camouflage, and with an extra eye on Mr. p.o.s., and if at night- using night vision goggles. Then maybe they could get to the bottom of it.

sagemind - very interesting story. Thanx for sharing. Hope you never have to go through something like that again.

We grew up on a farm; and all too often there would be illegals living across from us; cheap labor ya know. At 8 and being the oldest; I watched out for my siblings. Once these illegals would get comfortable?, they would try to lure me or my sisters out to where they stayed. It made me feel like I needed to protect us so I would get change, sneak off our Elementary campus, run down to a payphone and call Immigration. That day or the next a van would come haul them off; making us breathe easier. My parents were never told; I couldn't tell you why at this writing...mostly cause at that time and age I didn't understand human sexuality and their issues...so I couldn't understand why they "creeped" me out; just knew they were dangerous thru my own discerning spirit...you could say. There are more stories...just cannot be writing a novel...people have lives to live; and I pray it'll be a beautiful day for all. take care all...

to continue...Adam Hoffner lied and told the others, per radio that we ran the check point, and that my son was harboring and illegal alien(me!) We had called 911 to alert them to my condition, they were to meet us on this long long road; Adam canceled them and caused all commuters so much delay by having the main 4-way stop shut down so they could "capture" us who were still trying to look for the ambulance. So all these poor commuters have to sit and wait...most probably just got off work. Waste of community resources, and time for me to get treatment for the ol'ticker. And he ran the dog through 4 times with still nothing to arrest either of us on. And as the attendants were working on me, thinking I was an illegal; they talked about how they hates these calls...then I said, "I hated having to come to my old stomping grounds via ambulance"...broke the ice; apparently I speak English, maybe I'm legal? I worked 10 yrs. in the hospital they ended up taking me to. In Respiratory dept; not housekeeping...so the chief relaxed, then we find we knew a mutual friend once we started talking...it got better when they found out I was a citizen...they were angry with Adam too. If you only knew all the emotions I decided to empty out and look for the good in each agent I have to go by....it's there.

sikofit; I know how to stay alive around these p.o.s. people! I have been totally victimized by a liar who caused my son and I bodily harm! He lied and tried so hard to cover his tracks, but another agent stood up for us and told the captain we didn't run the border check; we stopped and talked with the Hoffner (skinhead looking M.F.) as I was heading to ER with chest pain....our problem, my skin is not white and we have called all the way to Washington DC regarding what happened!!! If I give you the specific information; which border check, what time, and who to approach. . . will you do it---report them I mean? They will make you disappear for your information. Oh, did I mention we have a very good close friend who is a high ranking agent? He actually gave us codes to call off the dogs, from San Diego...and after 6 hours of finding nothing on my son...we ran off the codes, freaked out the idiot Adam Hoffner and he let my son go...I was in ER by this time; and admitted to ICU. "doth protest too much".....not too much; when they are off the rez and no longer picking on all brown people then the situation will shed light on the good parts of us all. even them. I totally am against illegals no matter what nation they sneak over here from! I used to call the Border Patrol on them long before anyone saw a problem, believe I was 8 yrs. old . I'm 52; so I've had too many up close and personal interactions with many , bad agents...this is NOT the hill I want to die on! So I write to shine light on this ugly situation. It is real...cartels and death are all too real out here where the tumbleweeds thrive...unfortunately. Oh, hey and thankyou for asking...Amber Z.(BP.agent stationed to watch me in ER) was awesome though, I have to say; once she found out the truth of the situation regarding Adam...we connected and she only had good things to say about me...that was nice to hear.

sikofit - 7/17/2009 6:11 AM
sagemind, if you keep saying things like that, someone might think you know a little too much about some illegal activity that might be going on there. Are you just accusing or guessing, or are you just pro-illegal? If you KNOW they really do take bribes, then why don't you report it? It sounds to me that you "doth protest too much".

sagemind - 7/17/2009 1:49 AM
what a bunch of bullies; these men and women in those leprechaun green uniforms. We don't want them on the reservation either, but we had no choice...too many of them take bribes.
