Green Valley man arrested for leaving 20+ dogs without food

Reported by: Associated Press
Last Update: 2/08 4:24 pm
TUCSON, AZ -- Authorities have arrested a Green Valley man after nearly two dozen pit bulls and boxer-mix dogs were found without food or water.

The Pima Animal Care Center cited 34-year-old Raymond Quintero for failure to provide appropriate food and water to his dogs.

Officials say the pending charges are expected to be upgraded to the felony level.

Quintero allegedly abandoned the animals almost two weeks ago without providing them with any food or water.

Pima County authorities say all the dogs survived but are emaciated and have a variety of other health problems including infections, bad teeth and untreated injuries.

Authorities say Quintero was arrested Jan. 30 on multiple misdemeanor charges and was cited by animal control.
