MARICOPA, AZ -- One person was taken to a Valley hospital Thursday night after a pickup truck crashed into a sedan on State Route 347, officials said.
Maricopa Fire Department Spokesperson Brad Pitassi said crews responded to the scene on SR347 about a mile north of Maricopa around 8 p.m.
According to witnesses, the driver in the pickup truck was driving south on the northbound lanes of the freeway when the truck collided with another vehicle.
SEE PHOTOS FROM THE SCENE IN THE ATTACHED SLIDESHOWPitassi said all of the people involved in the incident were wearing seatbelts which likely prevented serious injuries. However, one victim was transported to Chandler Regional Medical Center.
It is unclear at this time which driver or passenger was taken to the hospital.
