My prayer is that at that tender age her little body will be able to fight off any bacteria that she inhaled or injested...we've lost patients' who's immune systems were not equipped to ward off the bacteria they caught while stuck in a flood...it's not over I suspect.

why don't people learn, when you own a pool, the back doors should always be locked when children are around, no if's or and's about it. you say it will never happen to you but then you read a story and wow, it happened. wake up people

The headline should read: "Stupid family lets kid almost drown" not Grandmother saves 2-year old.... Let's see they are negligent in letting her get into the pool and the nsave her? Hmmm strnage twist of the facts I must say. You should contact the County for green pools not the city. The county responds much quicker.

AZRAIA I own a house in Glendale. The city left 2 notes on my door because 4 dandelions were growing up on front of my yard , the last note was a court threat. Meanwhile the house across from mine had weeds growing all over yes the city put a note on the door as well still nothing has been done about it. Another house all use for gratify still close after so many yrs. WE took manners into our hands to boarded all up.The owner won't sell it for whatever the reason. City of Glendale hasn't done anything about it. But God Forbid if a weed grows on my front yard. They don't care simple as that. By the way, I'm talking about" Historical " Glendale Downtown area. You figure they'll do something to keep it decent. NOT!

I have a rental property in Glendale. The house next door is bank owned, the pool is solid green. Contacted the City of Glendale asking that the pool be treated for mosquito larvae. The City informed me that since the house is banked owned, they are not allowed to enter the property. What kind of bs policy is this ? I know of another property owned that actually caught 3 thieves loading up their truck with all the belongings they just ripped out of a home, including the refrigerator, stove, washer/dryer and water heater. Glendale PD showed up, briefly detained the 3 suspects, then informed the homeowner that there was nothing they could do since the house was bank owned due to foreclosure. Then they actually let the 3 thieves drive away with their stolen loot. WTF ?????

Charges should be filed against the homeowner, g-mother, (and/or) person in charge of caring for the child due to the fact the pool was NOT gated, locked or secured. Also I must add the child was NOT lucky to be alive .... The child is BLESSED to be alive!

Yup, she couldn't go through with it.

Barriers and constant adult supervision will prevent this. Near a body of water, if you have a child, and a fence, with a lock on the gate, and locks on the doors, and the doggy door tightly closed, you're still not guaranteed the child won't find their way to the pool. Eyes on child...all times...near water.

Story should read Grandmother pulls 2 year old she nearly killed by not watching her near water.......Negligence, plain and simple.

Are you reading a different story than the one that's printed here? How do you know that it wasn't the grandmother's home? If it was, why in the world would they say the grandmother 'saved' her? Every adult in that house, including the grandmother, should have been much more vigiliant about keeping that child away from the nasty pool in the first place!
