The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, will be conducting a DUI Task Force on Saturday night focusing on impaired drivers around the Maricopa Salsa Festival.

The Task Force will be operated from 4:00 p.m. until midnight, according to Pinal County Sheriff's spokeswoman Lt. Tamatha Villar.

Agencies participating in the Pinal County DUI Task Force include the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Casa Grande, Gila River, Apache Junction, Coolidge, Florence, Eloy, Ak-Chin and Maricopa Police Departments.

Villar says the DUI saturation effort will provide high-visibility, zero tolerance traffic enforcement during the Salsa Festival.

Pinal County Sheriff, Paul Babeu said in a news release, “Drunk drivers kill or injure thousands of people every year destroying families and their own lives. The efforts of the officers who volunteer for these task force deployments make the roads of Pinal County safer."
