MARICOPA, AZ -- Pinal County Sheriff's officials have arrested a Maricopa woman after more than a dozen animals were found in "bad shape" at her Maricopa home.

Becky Woodruff, 38, faces 18 charges of animal cruelty after being arrested Wednesday night at her home near Pima and Ralston roads.

Pinal County Animal Care and Control reportedly got an anonymous tip about animal abuse and called the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found nine horses, four goats, five dogs and a pig on the property.

Animal Care and Control has taken the dogs and pig; the horses are being kept at the Pinal County Fairgrounds.

Officials said the horses were found in "really bad shape", apparently underfed and without water.

"The horses probably didn't have anything to drink for three to four days," Lt. Tammy Villar said. "And it was about 110 degrees in the area."

And of the other animals, Villar added, "They had limited room and were all laying around, sleeping in their feces."

County officials hope to adopt out the horses because there's not enough money to care for them.

Right now, they are feeding the horses with hay provided by the Arizona Department of Corrections, which has inmates preparing the bails.

PCSO told ABC15 it received another tip of animal abuse and will be conducting a raid Friday, bringing more horses into their care.

"What's happen with these horses is unacceptable," Sheriff Paul Babeu said.

Officials say Woodruff will not be able to take back her animals.
