CASA GRANDE, AZ -- Casa Grande police are hoping money from a federal grant can help them pinpoint where crime is occurring.
The city has applied for a $35,000 grant from the federal Bureau of Justice Assistance that would pay for upgrades to police computer systems while simplifying crime mapping in neighborhoods.
Police say they can use the information to see what areas of town certain crimes have been committed, what day of the week, what time of day and group them by call times.
It's not clear when the city will learn if it's getting the grant.
