BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ – A drug dealer suspected of operating out of mobile home park in Black Canyon City was arrested on Tuesday.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Detectives from the Special Crimes Unit used information they gathered on 52-year-old Michael Degroat to arrest him for numerous narcotics violations.
YCSO says they started receiving tips about marijuana sales in the Midway R.V. Mobile Home Park beginning in late May of this year.
Undercover detectives reported being able to purchase various amounts of marijuana from the park manager, 61-year-old Joseph Angie.
Investigators reported that much of the supply sold at the Midway Mobile Home Park came from Degroat.
Detectives say they saw Degroat deliver marijuana to the park from June to August.
YCSO arranged for Degroat to make another delivery and arrested him a short time later after he was allegedly found in possession of marijuana and preparing to sell it.
Detectives also searched Degroat's apartment and said they found more drugs, receipts of sales and paraphernalia including pipes containing methamphetamine residue.
During the investigation, detectives apparently discovered that Degroat had made several marijuana sales to a 14-year-old resident of the park during recent weeks.
Degroat was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center for 12 counts of transportation of marijuana for sales, 10 counts of involving a minor in a drug offense, 2 counts involving drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs and DUI drugs.
The mobile home park manager was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.
