Stories like thi smake me really mad b/c people that can have kids don't care for them but those who do want to have kids to care for and love and be around can't. I hope that to this day that little boy is ok.

Heartbreaking story, another one that shouldn't have to be told because it shouldn't have happened! This is the USA, we have agencies in place to help the poor, downtrodden, and the helpless. I can't believe that no one who was capable of dialing 911 didn't know what was going on. Last year, I personally called the police and CPS on a family where the Mother was so depressed, the 4 kids were suffering. Thankfully, the kids were taken away for a few weeks, the Mother got help, and today is leading a productive and happy life. At first, she wouldn't speak to me but now she realizes that I was trying to help her. I would have helped physically, but this family lives in New York. I'm just glad the authorities acted and today, the 2 younger kids dressed in their Halloween costumes that the Mother purchased with funds from her new job. There are stories like this that should make all of us open our eyes and hearts to the suffering that is going on around us and stand up and do something about it, even if it's just a simple phone call that will bring the help to the people who need it. I will continue to support these agencies, even though none of them are perfect, the people they help are what keeps the workers/aides doing what they do.

Is there any possibility that the parents might be somewhat mentally handicapped, but not to the point of obviousness?

Why do we tolerate this kind of unbelievable abuse????? First get the parents "fixed" they should NEVER be around children, much less have children. With "choice" comes responsibiliy.....they deserve neither. I am so tired of seeing children and animals hurt and tormented by morons....it is time to stop it!

OMG this is crazy!! Where are the grandparents? It makes me wonder if they did this to the parents?

The mother is out of jail? That means she's free to breed again. OMG! Give me the baby and I'll make darned sure he's fed, clothed, clean and loved. I will give him toys and everything he needs to make sure he is developmentally where he should be. I'll take him to my child's pediatrician for a full check-up, get him up to date on his vaccines and whatever else he would need to make a full recovery. Shame on the mom. She's obviously too young to know how to take care of an infant and shame on the dad to not see his child is in dire need of a diaper change, let alone fresh formula and proper nutrition.

I almost got physically got sick when I read this for the first time. I have a 2 week old at the house and he about 11 or 12 pounds. Is she in jail still? Tell me she DOE NOT HAVE THE BOY....

There's no excuse for this, period. People like this should not be allowed to have children, and this one shouldn't be returned to his Parents.....
