Jeep. The very name says "Rugged. Go anywhere."
The Patriot is a new type of Jeep, meant more for the urban jungle: Priced low, with fuel economy a priority.
Equipped with optional all-wheel drive, you can take it off road, but you can also get it in 2-wheel drive form, like the one you see here.
That low price we mentioned? $17,795 base. And there aren't a lot of options to load it up with. This one's moderately well-equipped with a bottom line of $22,285.
We mentioned fuel economy too. The EPA says 21 in the city, 25 on the highway.
A lot of SUV drivers buy off-road capability they never use. If you're a realist about that kind of thing, the Patriot might be a good fit.
