Don't waste time with a "kit". They just clearcoat over the problem. All you need is some "Metal Polish" like Flitz or Mothers and a rag. You can buy it at places like Sportsman's Wearhouse (gun cleaner department), Autozone, Checker and sometimes Walmart in the Automotive section. If you want to speed it up, get a polishing ball that fits your power drill from Walmart. Tape off around the light to protect the paint and let it rip. With a polishing ball it takes about 10 minutes per light and they will look brand new. And NO - metal polish will not scratch plastic, infact it works very well to polish plastic; it will also buff out paint in a snap, just don't apply too much pressure as to wear thru to the primer coat.

This is a good time to check your bulb and socket fittings and make sure they are snug and tightly screwed/locked in. With cooler weather and the first rains in the near future, moisture and condensation often make their way into housings and cause fogging of the lens which can be a real hassle. Just an FYI

I tried some stuff on my headlight lens and all I got was a bubbled, yellowed, couldn't even see lens. Be careful on what you use. I had to buy new lens for both and it was not cheap. $85.00 per lens. Ouch!

I followed a DIY from a message board I frequent and it worked. My headlights look like new. You do have to perform the DIY maybe once a year if that to keep the lights looking good but it's still cheaper than what a dealership will try to charge you. Nothing but sanding with different pads and a polishing compound.

I clean headlights for a living and those products you buy at the stores whether they are $9 or $20 they don’t work for all headlights. I paid $200 for a professional kit and it was all junk much like the stuff at the stores, I threw most of it away Most headlights that really need repairing can be really difficult to clean. You can sit there all day scrubbing and not achieve any results. So you will buy another. Now how much have you spent? 2-3 hrs going to the store looking for the product and you went back a second time to buy another because the first one didn't finish the job. Salesmen give their free trials all the time so I can buy and use their products, but they just don't work. I am happy with my system that I use and so are my dealerships and retail customers that refer me.

I bet it was checker or auto zone Tucker.

Would be nice if they would have included what store they visited and the brand name. Now I'm just gonna have to visit an auto parts store and say "give me that stuff that was shown on ABC15 for 8.99"

I might have to try this. Have heard about it, but nothing substantial about how well it works. The lenses on my '97 are a bit frosted over. Ah the good old days when they were made out of glass and we did not have this problem!

Well how else is each city going make that extra revenue? Criminals and illegals dont pay their fines and only cost each city money. Its the good old tax paying citizens who pay their fines and thats why photo radar is a money maker.
