Flex means to bend, so it's a little ironic that Ford gave that name to this vehicle, all flat sides, edges and right angles.
What is it? Well, Ford calls it a large crossover, part SUV, part car, but as we have with most crossovers, we think it's a big station wagon.
And it has a lot going for it, including three trim levels, three rows of seating and a price that starts at $28,550.
The standard six-cylinder makes 262 horsepower and gets an EPA estimated 17 city/24 highway miles per gallon.
EcoBoost's twin turbochargers add another 100 horsepower, and the mileage estimates stay exactly the same at 17 city/24 highway.
That power is immediately obvious when you put your foot down, and it's nice to see the speedometer needle move and the gas gauge stay put.
