Want your yard looking great next summer? Don't ignore it until spring!

Right now is the time to think about your lawn.

According to AngiesList.com, there are tips to follow to keep your lawn looking its best come spring:

Fertilize your lawn in early fall
Fall fertilization is important so your lawn will have nutrients to feed off during the winter months.

Cool season grasses should be fertilized in September, October or November. Warm season grasses should be fertilized in July, August or September.

Aerate your lawn in the fall for good root development
Aeration allows for air, moisture, and fertilizer to travel to the roots of the grass more efficiently over the winter and allow the turf to be thicker in the spring.

Mow your lawn through the fall until it stops growing
Keep grass about 2 to 2 ½ inches long.

Water your lawn if there isn’t much rainfall
Despite the cooler temperatures, your grass still needs an inch of water a week.
