Those measures are allready in place. It is against company policy for pilots to use laptops in the cockpit. Those pilots you refer to were fired.

The government strikes again. To save maybe no one, fire kills most passengers in a crash, the price of the airline ticket goes up.

Perhaps the new safety measures should ban pilots from drinking and/or using cellphones and laptops while trying to steer the damn plane.
