It is the season for traveling and getting out of your regular routine can wreak havoc on your skin.

But Love Stinnett from LATHER offers these skin tricks for traveling to help you keep your skin looking good even on the road.

Keep your skin hydrated: As any air traveler knows, frequent flying can dehydrate the skin.

Start a smart skin care routine at home, before you go.

She says you should use a super-hydrating mask.

Keep your creams travel size: By now, most everyone knows that airline rules require that all "carry-on" toiletries be packaged in 3 ounces or less.

You can pick up travel-sized containers at any drugstore.

Stinnett says LATHER makes packing your favorite skin and hair care products easier with our Fly Away Kit, which includes travel-friendly sizes of hair wash, crème rinse, body wash, moisturizer, and lip balm packaged in its own clear, zippered bag.

Ask for Samples: It also helps to stop by your favorite stores and makeup counters and ask for samples of your favorite products.

Most specialty companies will be happy to provide you with enough product to last at least a weekend, and are equipped with miniature bottles, jars, and tubes for this purpose.

Double Duty: If you're really cramped for space, bring only what you really need.

Most hotels offer shampoo and conditioner, so pack the facial/skin care products you can't live without.

You can also double up - shampoo makes a fine body wash (and vice versa) and hair conditioner can serve as shaving creme!

We always recommend bringing a good moisturizer, however.

When skin is parched from too much traveling, a little soothing goes a long way.

Fight Jet Lag: When crossing time zones, try aromatherapy to help with jet lag. Natural essential oils can help center the mind and can be found at any natural food store.

Try citrus for energizing, or lavender to help relax.

Try a few drops on a compress or apply directly to pulse points to maximize the mind-body connection.
