TEMPE, AZ – A group of children from the Grace Community Church are putting together shoebox donations for children around the world.

It’s all part of Operation Christmas Child.

The kids collected the boxes on Monday and filled them with donations including toys, toothbrushes, books, crayons and socks.

The boxes are distributed to over 130 countries.

"To pack a shoe box is a simple act of love and hope. By putting in possibly a little doll, stuffed animals, toothbrush, toothpaste, wash cloth a little shirt socks anything that you think a child would like to have,"  said Cindy Williams, who works with Operation Christmas Child. "For many children this is the only gift they will ever receive.”

The children from Grace Community Church will collect more shoeboxes on Monday, November 23rd and fill them at the church collection center at 1200 E. Southern Avenue.

You can also drop off shoeboxes at the Tempe location.
