Spring Tinnie

In these trying times, recyclable items in your crafts are a wonderful way to stretch your dollar and satisfy your creative urge.  Creative artist, Tricia Samsal with Vintage Bliss suggests this Spring Tin.  She says its wonderful for small gifts, a small candle, candy or teacher gift.  Or make many of them to adorn a mantle, child's shelf or any other small nook in your home.

Supplies:

*soup sized can (rinsed, cleaned out and dried)
*acrylic paint (off white and pink)
*foam brush
*various scrap papers and vintage papers
*Spring Chick image
*pencil
*stamp pad (green used in sample)
*paper piercer or sharp pointed instrument
*decorative tapes and buttons (optional, if you have in your craft stash)

Begin by painting the can with the off white acrylic paint.
You will need to have 2 layers of this color.

Allow 10-15 minutes drying time between each coat.

Paint on pink acrylic paint. Let dry.

Use a glue stick to adhere your chosen decorative scrap papers to the top and bottom of the Tinnie.

Apply decorative tape as a second layer on top of the scrap paper that was applied.

Use a pencil eraser and stamp pad to Stamp green dots along the piece of scrap paper applied to the bottom of the Tinnie.

If you have some coordinating colored buttons, you can glue to the top of the Tinnie with craft glue.

After your buttons are glued, adhere the Spring Chick image to the middle of the Tinnie. Once adhered, apply some Stickles Glitter Glue to the image for a vintage look.

Using a paper piercer, or sharp instrument to poke a small hole on the side of the Tinnie. Do this on the corresponding side as well.

Place a tinsel wire or ribbon  through the holes and secure.

Put a little paper shred inside and display for Spring or use some tissue to wrap a special gift to put inside.
