Domestic Expert, Cindy Porter, shared some fantastic ideas for holiday decorations, and these won't break the bank.  First and formost Cindy says "give yourself permission to not be perfect", that will take the stress off and allow you to enjoy what you are doing.

Some of Cindy's ideas include using a sheet as a tablecloth, you can find them for a few bucks at discount retailers, and if you are only using it for one day it may be the perfect solution.  We all know the holidays are filled with glitz and shimmer, Cindy suggests using an emergency blanket as an accent piece for your tablecloth.  You can find them for a few dollars and they are usually a metallic silver color.  To tie it all together, try using ornaments as a place card.  For an inexpensive centerpiece try hanging candy canes over the edge of a vase filled with roses, wrap a rubber band around them to hold them in place, and then add a decorative ribbon.

The child's table is for kids, so make sure the centerpiece is suited for them as well.  A couple of easy solutions are to wrap an empty box and use it for the centerpiece, their imaginations will run wild about what is inside.  If youre looking for more of a 'sweet treat', make a batch of Rice Krispy treats with Fruity Pebbles cereal and mold it into the shape of a Christmas tree, you can even have the kids help.  They will love getting their hands gooey and messy.  Make sure each child has a fun gift to take home with them, grab some empty toilet paper rolls and fill them with candy, then roll them up with wrapping paper and tie ribbons on the ends and voila, instant gift!
