During the fall you can't go anywhere without seeing pumpkins.
It is the symbol of the season, so why not see put it in your food.
These three recipes will give you something cozy to enjoy this year besides traditional pumpkin pie.
This recipe is like a warm hug from the fall leaves.
The title of this dessert from Eddie V's Chef Brian Feirstein just sounds cozy.
PUMPKIN BREAD PUDDINGIngredients:
Heavy cream 1qt
Pumpkin puree 1 pound
Eggs 12 ea
Sugar 1 ½ pound
Vanilla 1 oz
French bread,1" cubes 1 gal
Pumpkin seeds, toasted 4 oz
Method:
For custard:
1. Heat cream to a boil,
2. Mix together pumpkin puree, vanilla, eggs & sugar
3. Toss-in bread carefully to coat, allow to sit in a warm place for 15 minutes
4. Fill buttered 8 oz ramekins with mixture
5. Bake at 325 until set approximately 20 minutes
6. Remove from ramekins onto serving plates
7. Serve with ice cream and whipped cream, powdered sugar
8. Top with toasted pumpkin seeds
