Milkshakes and malts come in all shapes and sizes.

There are the traditional flavors, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. And the new flavors peanut butter up, cheesecake, and toffee.

Some like them thick, others prefer them to melt a little. Whatever your preference is for this cool and creamy treat in order to make a good one, you have to start with the best ice cream.

The folks at the 5 & Diner in Paradise Valley say the secret to their rich and tasty dessert is Bryers’ all natural ice cream. They say it gives the best flavor.

Start with a few scoops of your favorite vanilla ice cream, then add in whatever flavor you like and blend. Top it off with whipped cream and a cherry and that’s about all there is to it.

Mix it up! Get creative; you don’t have to stick to the traditional flavors. If you like banana and peanut butter go for it!

You can even get the kids involved or add a special twist to your next party.

Set up a milkshake bar, with different types of ingredients and let your guests go to town.

To add a decorative touch to the shakes, add some of the flavor of the shake to the glass and swirl it around before you pour in the shake. It will add a nice pop of color to the glass, and some additional flavor to the shake.

If you’d rather have someone else do the work, stop by 5 & Diner.

They have 20 of flavors to choose from, and you can mix and match the flavors to find the perfect creation to fit your craving.

But if you have Elvis (peanut butter, banana, chocolate), peppermint, fudge brownie, or root beer on the brain they will be more than happy to help you and serve you with a smile.
