Absinthe, first commercialized in the early 1800's, once proclaimed to fuel the fires of creativity.

It was subsequently demonized but Absinthe has recently reemerged on the world stage as a high quality libation.

Lucid recalls the rich tradition of Absinthe, and is crafted using a full measure of Grande Wormwood, Green Anise, Sweet Fennel, and other fine European herbs traditionally used in making fine Belle Époque absinthe.

Ben Scorah recently created his signature Brazilian Sangria featuring Lucid Absinthe. The Brazilian Sangria muddles a variety of crisp fruits alongside Lucid, shaken and poured into a wine glass with a drizzle of red wine. Though you might be surprised to find absinthe in sangria, Lucid is actually an extremely versatile spirit and since its recipe is truly authentic in every detail, its sugars add balance and a familiar sense of warmth to this refreshing cocktail.

This summer, the fruit forward based cocktail will be a perfect refresher for the lazy, hazy days of summer.

Here's how to make a Brazilian Sangria cocktail

Fresh seasoned fruit
(recommended: strawberry, lime, orange, kiwi, and passionfruit) ¼ oz. Lucid Absinthe
1 ¼ oz. Cachaca
½ oz. Spanish Brandy
½ oz. Orange Liquor
1 oz. Red Wine

In a cocktail shaker, thoroughly muddle the fruit with Lucid, cachaca, brandy, and orange liquor.
Pour into wine glass.
Float red wine on top of cocktail.
Stir and enjoy.
