LAS VEGAS -- A lawyer says e-mails are arriving from former students who may benefit from a nearly $113 million class-action settlement stemming from their enrollment in a Nevada-based helicopter flight school.

Lawyer Kevin Rooney said Wednesday that attorneys Andrew August in San Francisco and Christopher Casper in Tampa, Fla., will respond to former Silver State Helicopters students e-mails to settlementquestions@gmail.com.

But Rooney says they won't have specifics about the settlement with Student Loan Xpress until after a judge approves the agreement in coming weeks.

The settlement announced Tuesday involves 12 states.

Student Loan Xpress agreed to forgive some debts for students enrolled when Silver State Helicopters folded in February 2008 and sought bankruptcy liquidation.

About 200 pilot trainees were enrolled at Silver State schools at airports in Mesa, Glendale and Tucson.
