TEMPE, AZ -- Pinked in Networking events have become a popular way to find employment.
Accounting & Finance Professionals has held these events in the past and hopes to hold them every six to eight weeks.
Any employer can take part in the events which give an opportunity to meet potential employees in a more relaxed environment.
"This way we're able to talk to people in a social environment and really get a better feel for that individual, rather than a typical job interview," said Deanne Desautels, C.E.O. of Accounting & Finance Professionals.
At Thursday's event A&F were looking to fill over 200 positions at the new data and call center for the Census Bureau.
Also on hand were recruiters from
Direct Alliance and
Ensynch.
Admission to Thursday's event was $5 which was donated to
"Umom" shelters, and a can of food to be donated to
St. Mary's Food Bank.
To find out more about these events and how you can get involved just go to the
A&F Professionals website.
"People who are out there networking are the people that are getting the jobs," said Desautels. "Those are the people who are getting the referrals and usually that's the best way to get into a company is through a referral."
