As more people in the Valley try to search for that better job, some part-time positions are opening up which may help supplement income.

Schools need substitute teachers every week. Kelly Educational Staffing helps fill those positions for nearly 30,000 classrooms in the Valley and across the country. The daily pay ranges from $70 to $100 and higher.

Spending time with seniors will also earn you extra money. Senior Helpers is searching for 450 caregivers to serve 195 franchises in the U.S.

The workers do light housekeeping, prepare meals and provide general assistance to elderly clients.

Training is provided and all companions must have a valid driver license, car insurance and a clean driving record. Home Instead and Sunrise Senior Living are also looking for the same workers. The pay starts at $10 an hour.

Watching a pet might seem simple, but it could also put more cash in your pockets. Pet sitters are always needed.

Fetch Pet Care is hiring 1,500 part-time professional pet sitters. The workers do private dog walks, boarding, clean up yards, keep the dogs in shape among other things.

Sitters have to be over 21 years old. Hours are flexible since the employees will accept only assignments they are available for and comfortable taking. Some sitters work just hours a week and others work more than 160 hours a month.

Sitter City and Care also provide pet sitter services.
