Arizonans might have a tough time finding anything free these days, but they just have to know where to look.  We found 22 fast ways to avoid spending a penny.

Get a free hair dryer at Walgreens on Monday only.  The Conair Gel Grips Ionic Syler Dryer is marked as $10 (regularly $19.99).  But, Walgreens will give you $10 Register Rewards which makes the offer free.  Experts suggest you get to the store early to pick up this deal.

Coupon Cravings found that families looking for a free event over the winter break will find it at the bowling alley.  AMF Lanes will give you a coupon for free bowling for up to 10 people.  You have to use it fast, however.  The coupon expires 14 days after signing up.

Fast cash is as close as your nearest Walgreens.  Get a $25 gift card on the spot when you transfer your prescription to the store.  The deal expires on January 10, 2009.

Coupons will keep paying you back in the tight economy and they’re just a click away.  Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Del Monte and other stores will give you six free coupon booklets by just signing up.

Get a free Energizer Rechargeable Charger at Walgreens just by knowing how to work the deal.  Coupon Cravings showed the simple way to make it work.  Buyers can only take part in this offer until December 27, 2008.

Buy a dozen doughnuts at Krispy Kreme and get 12 free gift tags.  Each tag has a coupon for a free doughnut.  Basically, a dozen doughnuts gets you a dozen free (in gift tags).

Get a free DVD rental every Sunday through January 4 from Redbox machines at Wal-Mart stores.  The Redbox machines have popped up in stores across the Valley.  You'll need a promotion code, which you'll find at Coupon Cravings.  The site will also show you the closest Redbox near you as well as show you how to get a free DVD rental on Mondays.

Save money and download 6 free songs from Bacardi.

Amazon.com will also give you one free download every day through Christmas.

Get a free breakfast or lunch sandwich at Einstein Bros. by simply referring a friend to the restaurant's e-club.  You'll get a coupon for the free breakfast or lunch sandwich when your friend signs up.

After getting that sandwich, stop by Arby's for a free mint chocolate swirl shake.  You have to sign up for Arby's Extras at Arby's.com to get the free coupon, which has to be used by December 28.

Free furniture is just a click away.  Freecycle and Craigslist frequently have items that you just have to pick up.

Many visitors to the sites will spend weeks waiting for that fantastic free item to pop up.

We saw several items at no cost during a quick search: a trampoline, washer and dryer, computer monitor, a Dodge Intrepid car and bed.

If you like to travel, you can find a free place to stay.  Couch Surfing allows visitors to meet locals who do not mind having someone stay for free.

In Phoenix alone, 110 free places to sleep were up for grabs in December.
