Wicked returns! Broadway's biggest blockbuster's back at ASU Gammage

Last Update: 6/04 2:31 pm
After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2005 WICKED, the smash-hit musical, will return to Tempe’s ASU Gammage, July 1-26.

Tickets for the return engagement are on sale now.

Based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED, winner of 20 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards, is the untold story of the witches of Oz.

Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One – born with emerald-green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood.

The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.

WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, and how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.

“We are thrilled that WICKED will be returning to ASU Gammage” says ASU Gammage Executive Director, Colleen Jennings Roggensack.

“The national tour is just as great as the Broadway production if not better!” If you didn’t get a chance to see it in 2005 or even if you did, come experience it again.”

It is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.

Tickets start at $25 and are available via telephone at 1.800.982.ARTS (2787); and online at Ticketmaster.com/wicked and through Ticketmaster outlets.

Gammage and Ticketmaster are the only authorized ticket sales outlets for the ASU Gammage engagement of WICKED. Visit the NEW ASUGammage.comfor additional information on WICKED.

WICKED will play ASU Gammage July 1-26 and the performance schedule at ASU Gammage includes Tuesday-Friday performances at 7:30 p.m., Saturday performances at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances at 2 and 7 p.m.

There will be one weekday matinee on Thursday, July 2 at 2 p.m.
