But you can still go and enjoy new movies, at a discount at one Valley theater.
Pollack Tempe Cinemas offers new movies for $3 and on Tuesday you can see any movie you want for just $2.
The theater is a labor of love for Valley real estate mogul and philanthropist Michael Pollack.
Known for redeveloping run down strip malls and bettering communities, Pollac said his goal was to bring low-cost entertainment to families in the area.
The theater includes a classic arcade-style game room and a virtual museum in the lobby with wax figures from Hollywood's past and present; some are very rare artifacts from the first-ever auction of the Hollywood Wax Museum.
There are also autographs and autographed pictures; and a collection of lunchboxes from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Inside, the theater also has a fiber-optic "Starry Light, Starry Night" system designed to make the interior look like the night sky.
There's a snack bar complete with all your favorite movie snacks also at discount prices!
Pollack Tempe Cinemas is located at Elliot Road and McClintock Drive in Tempe.
