A great way to help your kids learn about the planets and space is through an astronomy club.
While joining one may seem like a stretch, try this on for size-some astronomy clubs host free star parties in your neck of the woods!
Take the East Valley Astronomy Club for example.
They sponsor a free public star party each month at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert.
The event is scheduled on the second Friday of each month, weather permitting, and begins at dusk.
You can observe through members’ telescopes.
Another great way for kids to appreciate astronomy is to arrange a star party for their school.
The club starts with a few minutes of talking with everyone about astronomy, then an hour or more of checking out the moon, planets and whatever they can find in the night sky.
