PHOENIX -- Arizona State University is working with local music artists and local venues to put on the second annual "Know Your Neighbor" concert series. It is a series of free shows that is open to the public and happening during the entire month of November.
After ASU's school of journalism and mass communication moved downtown, many students are making the commute, bringing youth and potential business into the area.
The idea for creating the concert series came after requests were made to help integrate the students and faculty with local venues and into the culture.
The first concert series will take place at 7 p.m. this Friday, November 6, at the Paisley Violin located at 1028 Grand Avenue during the First Friday celebrations in downtown Phoenix.
Headlining the five-hour jam session is the band Castles Made of Sand, comprised of two ASU students.
