Mario Martusciello started his barista experience in Scottsdale and migrated to the coffee city of Seattle in the 90s where he perfected his coffee touch. While coming back to the Valley to visit his parents he noticed Phoenix didn’t really have a local coffee scene so in 2005 he packed up and headed back to the desert. Matador Coffee Roasting Company roasts their own coffee to order and brings uniqueness to the Valley. “Coffee is meant to be consumed with in weeks of roasting” explains Mario Martusciello owner and barista. “For our client base we roast our coffee to order and get it to them as quickly as we can, quality is job one for us.” As you stroll into Matador coffee you’ll notice local art and a vibe that is strongly local. With delicious sandwiches prepared by Jack Martusciello, handmade deserts baked by Terry Martusciello, it’s really a family business that wants you to walk away with a connection to the coffee, the shop and the community.
