Nicole Beyer is a Multimedia Journalist for ABC15 News. In this capacity, she not only reports and anchors, but also shoots, writes and edits much of her own work.
She's an Emmy Award winning journalist who has worked at ABC15 in many different roles since 2005.
Nicole’s family moved to the Valley of the Sun when she was 14 years old from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After a series of spring breaks, her family found their permanent home in Scottsdale.
Nicole graduated from Saguaro High School where she played four years of varsity volleyball and tennis.
A full-tennis scholarship led Nicole to Flagstaff’s Northern Arizona University. Nicole was inducted into the NAU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008 along with her teammates from the 1999 season.
After winning three consecutive Big Sky Conferences, their team gave the university its first berth into the NCAA tournament in women's tennis.
When Nicole wasn't studying or spending time with her tennis teammates, she was the president of her women's fraternity, Pi Beta Phi and worked at the NAU television station.
In 3.5 years, Nicole graduated from NAU. She was the recipient of the gold axe award, an honor given to the top ten seniors in her class for outstanding contributions in academic performance, activities and service to the university.
Nicole got her start in the news business in Yuma, Arizona, days after graduation. She produced and anchored Southwest News Midday and reported for the 6pm broadcast at KSWT, the CBS affiliate. There, Nicole found herself fortunate to be a utility player since she was able to learn and implement multiple key aspects of the industry.
After nearly two years, she made the jump to Springfield, Missouri’s ABC affiliate, KSPR. She spent weekdays in the field reporting. On weekends, she not only produced and anchored the newscasts, she was also the acting weekend news director.
The "Show-Me" state showed her the way back home to ABC15 in Phoenix in March of 2005.
In 2005, Nicole also became a board member for Society of Professional Journalists, Valley of the Sun chapter.
Her ABC15 career began as a general assignment reporter. Then, she was promoted to a partnership position with the East Valley Tribune, a local newspaper, in January of 2006. This new endeavor allowed her to represent the Tribune on-the-air at ABC15 and to develop her print writing skills.
In October 2008, Nicole became a Multimedia Journalist for ABC15.
Nicole believes it's her duty to be dedicated to responsible journalism and to set the standard for an informed society.
In September of 2006, Nicole married the love of her life. The couple resides in Scottsdale.
