Corey Rangel joined ABC15 News as a general assignment reporter in June 2007.
He's thrilled to leave the bitter cold Midwest winters behind and excited to see what Phoenix has to offer.
Corey started his career in broadcast news as an intern at the NBC station in Wichita, Kansas. Eventually, he became a weekend producer.
Wanting to pursue his goal of becoming a reporter, Corey joined the NBC station in Topeka as a reporter. He then made a stop at the CBS station in Omaha, Nebraska before coming to ABC15.
Corey has won several awards including the first ever Nebraska News Photograph Association's Award for Reporting, the 2006 Nebraska Broadcasters Association bronze award for best spot news, and 1st Place for in-depth reporting with the Kansas Association of Broadcasters.
Corey was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Wichita State University. Just a year after graduating, WSU named him the Outstanding Broadcast Journalism graduate.
In his spare time, Corey enjoys the outdoors, especially running, boating, and camping.
