Amber Sullins joined ABC15 News as a Meteorologist in September 2009.
She anchors weather weekdays on ABC15 Daybreak and updates the forecast all morning long on ABC15.com.
Amber has spent most of her life in the beautiful Southwest.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Amber said she had a love for the Monsoon from a young age, which led her to pursue a career in Meteorology.
She attended the University of Arizona in Tucson and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Atmospheric Science with a double minor in Math and Journalism.
While at the UA, Amber also worked at the National Weather Service. She then started her career at KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas.
In Texas, Amber was honored with two back-to-back Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Awards for Best Weathercasts in 2007 and 2008. She was also recognized again at the Texas Legislature for these awards in May of 2009 when a house resolution was passed in her honor.
Amber also volunteered her time to help the efforts of the El Paso Extreme Weather Task Force, taught two semesters of introductory meteorology classes at The University of Texas El Paso Center for Lifelong Learning and authored a weather activities book to help teach young children about severe weather safety.
Amber has earned the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation, the highest seal attainable for a television meteorologist.
When she's not working hard forecasting the weather, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband Stephen, as well as her family and friends, and playing with her two long-haired miniature Dachshunds, Willis and Lilly.
She is also a member of the Salvation Army band.
