ABC15 has teamed up with Mayo Clinic and the Phoenix affiliate of the American Heart Association to bring Rally for Red to Arizona.
Rally for Red is a heart health initiative with the goal of teaching ABC15 viewers how to live healthier lives through heart-healthy actions.
Beginning in February, on the 15 th of every month there after, ABC15 anchor Katie Raml will showcase heart healthy content that will air during ABC15 News at 5am, 11am and 5pm.
During each newscast that day – along with on each of our digital platforms – we'll share heart health reminders. We also conduct quarterly phone banks with Valley cardiologists to answer questions specific to heart disease and strokes.
When viewers sign-up for Rally for Red, they will receive a monthly email with simple and easy tips to better heart health from ABC15, Mayo Clinic and the American Heart Association.
"Statistics show that every 25 seconds, someone in the US has a coronary event and about one person every minute dies from one," said Anita Helt, vice-president and general manager at ABC15. "Our mission at ABC15 is to help Arizona be a better place to live, that's why we are launching Rally for Red."
