Meteorologist Iris Hermosillo joins the ABC15 Forecasters

PHOENIX - Meteorologist Iris Hermosillo is joining the ABC15 Forecasters.

She comes to the station from KCTV-TV, the CBS affiliate in Kansas City where she served as weekend morning meteorologist, hosted the award-winning weekly news magazine show, Que Pasa, KC and was very active in Kansas City's Hispanic Community.

Moving to Arizona is a homecoming for Iris.  She was born in a small town in Mexico but was raised in Phoenix, Arizona.  She studied Broadcast Journalism and Spanish at Arizona State University.

Iris definitely enjoys the variety of being a meteorologist and a reporter.  One of her most memorable experiences was covering the aftermath of the 2011 Joplin tornado.

"We are excited that Iris Hermosillo is moving back to Arizona.  Her hometown roots and desire to get out into the community make her a wonderful addition to ABC15," said Anita Helt, vice-president and general manager at ABC15.   "Her go-for-it attitude and spunk will take ABC15's desire to serve Arizona to the next level ."

Iris joins Chief Meteorologist Amber Sullins and Forecaster Amy Murphy on the Valley's most accurate weather forecast team.
